Support a hospice patient through friendly visits. Be a supportive presence by talking with the patient, reading, coloring or puzzles, singing or possibly just sitting in silent support. Possibly sit with a patient so their caregiver can take a break. Patient visits may take place in the patient's home or nursing facility.
All volunteers must submit an application and two references, pass a criminal background check, drug test, and TB screening. Once accepted the volunteer will complete approx. 12 hours of training before visiting with patients.
