Description

Garden maintenance volunteers play a vital role in keeping our community gardens healthy, beautiful, and productive. During each session, you may help with weeding, watering, planting, transplanting, harvesting, or general upkeep like tidying paths, organizing tools, and caring for pollinator beds. No experience is needed — we’ll guide you through every task and make sure you feel comfortable and supported. Volunteers should come dressed for outdoor, hands‑on work: closed‑toe shoes or boots, clothes that can get dirty, long pants for protection, and layers suited to the weather. A hat, sunscreen, and bug spray are helpful, and while we provide gloves, tools, and all materials, you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We encourage volunteers to bring a refillable water bottle and take breaks as needed. When you arrive, you’ll receive a quick orientation, clear instructions, and a friendly team lead who can answer questions. The work is collaborative, paced for all abilities, and designed to make an immediate, visible impact on the garden and the neighborhood it serves.
