Wilson's MLK Day Service Projects

Description

Join VOiCEup Berks as Generation Impact participants to support Wilson School District's MLK Day of Service.  Alvernia students will have the opportunity to learn about Helping Harvest, our local food bank serving the hungry in Berks County, as well as lead secondary students from Wilson in packing "weekender bags" that will go to students and their families throughout all Berks and Schuylkill County schools, providing them with necessary food for the weekend.  Time permitting, participants will also create food bags for the unhoused in our community.

This service opportunity will take place at three Wilson School District sites: Wilson Southern Middle School, Wilson West Middle School, and Wilson High School. Alvernia volunteers who would like to serve together at the same site should register as a "team." Individual volunteers will be assigned evenly across the three locations. All volunteers must check in at the Student Center prior to departure to receive their assigned service site and board the shuttle transportation to their location. Registered volunteers will recieve additional information closer to the service date.
