Each year, the Alvernia community comes together to support local parks, trails, and neighborhoods through hands-on environmental stewardship on Earth Day of Service. This year, students, faculty, and staff will volunteer across Berks County in celebrating Earth Day through meaningful service projects focused on cleanups and community enviornmental revitalization at Grings Mill and City Park.

- Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
- Time: 9 AM – 1:00 PM (but get 5 hours of service!)
- Location: Various off-campus service sites (assigned after registration)
- Perks: Free volunteer t-shirt and transportation provided!
Schedule
- 8:15-8:45 AM: volunteer check-in
- 8:45 AM: shuttle departure to service sites
- 9:00 AM-11:45 PM: service activity at assigned site
- 12:00 PM: lunch
- 1:00 PM: shuttle departure back to Alvernia
Important Notes
Service will take place outdoors, including trail work, community cleanups, gardening, trail revitalization, and similar projects. Please wear clothing and footwear appropriate for outdoor work and gardening activity.
