Schuylkill YMCA

Our mission is to strengthen our community by improving the quality of life and inspiring individuals and families to develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body. The YMCA has been a part of Schuylkill County since the 1930's when it was introduced as the Pottsville YMCA.The Y was considered a leader in community events and activity, hosting teen and adult dances, community events, and promoting healthy living through swimming and sports programs like basketball. In the early '70's, the Pottsville Y closed its doors and it wasn't until 1997 that it was reincorporated as the Schuylkill YMCA, which continues to serve the county to this day.

The Y makes accessible the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow and thrive. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nation’s health and well-being, and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
