Get in step with the newest addition to Alvernia's Homecoming and Family Weekend: the Pack Dash 5K. Race date is Sunday October 11, 5K race time begins at 10AM and 1K walk begins at 10:40AM starting at the Student Center.
Proceeds from the Pack Dash will benefit the Hope Fund, a critical resource that assists students facing unexpected hardships, including food and housing insecurity, transportation challenges, and emergency medical expenses. The race will also support Clare's Cupboard, Alvernia University's campus pantry, which provides free non-perishable food items and personal care products to students in need.
We have a number of volunteer opportunities the morning of the race:
- Course set up (report at 8AM-10AM): help set up check in table with giveaways, food/drink stations and distribute race signs.
- Registration (report at 8:30AM-10:30AM): assist checking in volunteers and runners/walkers
- Course marshalls (Report at 9AM-11AM): direct runners where to go (we will have a meeting the week of the race to go through the course and how to direct runners).
- Tear down (Report at 10AM-11:30AM): clean up registration table, take down race signs, clean up trash.
