MLK Day of service is a national initiative that Alvernia participates in that is observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
- Date: Monday, January 16th
- Time: 10AM - 2:00 PM (but receive FIVE hours of service for participating!)
- Join us as we serve with Public Works and Mount Penn Preserve in honor of MLK
- Note: We will serve outside from 10-12 and come back to campus for lunch and discussion.

Thank you again for volunteering your time to serve the community on Monday 1/16 in honor of MLK in a day of service and in service.
In order to help the check-in process run smoothly, please complete this volunteer waiver prior to Monday morning:
Reminders:
-Please bring your student ID with you.
-Plan to arrive in the Student Center (cafeteria) no later than 9:15AM.
-We will be serving at various sites in the community from 10-12 and come back to campus for lunch and reflection. You must stay for the reflection and the entirety of the event after lunch to receive your service hours for the day. Partial hours will not be awarded.
-Transportation will be provided.
-If you know you can no longer attend, please unregister on Get Connected ASAP.
