SERVICE AWARDS

Annual Award for Excellence in Service- Presented to those students who complete at least 100 hours of service to the community over the course of one academic year. Students are eligible for this award every year that they are enrolled at the University.

The Graduation Award for Excellence in Service- Presented to those graduating seniors who have completed at least 300 hours of service to the community throughout their time as an Alvernia student.

The Holleran Center Community Engagement Award- Presented to those graduating seniors who have completed at least 500 hours of service to the community throughout their time as an Alvernia student.

The Holleran Center Outstanding Service Award- Presented to the graduating senior who has completed the highest number of hours in service to the community.  The recipient of this award will receive a monetary award made to the charity their choice.

Franciscan Servant Leader Certification- This certification is award to those graduating seniors that have completed at least 100 hours of service by serving in a variety of different areas including: enrollment in a service-learning course, participation in university-wide days of service, alternative break/mission trip, serving an educational need in our community, volunteering with those most vulnerable in our community, and finally service that promotes environmental sustainability. Alumni Service Award- The Alumni Service Award is presented to the Top 5 performing alumni of Alvernia University who have gone above and beyond to serve our local, regional, and global communities beyond graduation. Note: Service hours must be entered through the Get Connected system by the first week in March of the student's graduating year OR have hours approved by the Holleran Center (holleran.center@alvernia.edu) if they will be performed outside of this submission deadline in order to be considered for a service award.
